orcon and third party modem recent issue

For several years now using my own vigor 120 modem with my orcon dsl line has worked fine. Until 2-3 days ago when it dropped in the middle of the day and now will no longer connect.

Does anyone know of any changes that are needed now to make a third party modem work with orcon ? My white NF4V modem will connect, but neither my vigor 120, nor a second vigor 120 on latest firmware will.

I was using pppoe/a bridging to a miktrotik router but even just on the vigor itsself i cant get it to hold up the pppoa session any more. I've poured over the config from the nf4v but i can't see what they could have changed to block those modems but still allow the nf4v one.

What i've tried:- reboots and resets- vlan 10 on wlan port

I'm going with modulation mode g.dmt, vpi 0, vci 100, with the username and password from the nf4v but what i see in syslog output form the vigor is:

admin: DSL: Mode = 0[PPPoA]<166>Jan 1 00:00:05 admin: DSL: Encapsulation type = 0[VC_MUX]<166>Jan 1 00:00:05 admin: DSL: Modulation type = 2[G.DMT]<174>Jan 1 00:00:05 admin: ADSL_Status:[Mode=----- States=RESET UpSpeed=0 DownSpeed=0 SNR=0 Atten=0 ]<166>Jan 1 00:00:05 admin: DSL: DSL_DRV_Init error code: 0

I get the DSL light up, but not the internet one. I tried support but they fobbed me off as their own modem works.

I'm totally stumped. Anyone have any ideas ?
