After many years of (albeit reasonable) ADSL2+ I am moving house, and it turns out the new place is eligible for UFB. The new place has a long, gravel driveway which has a wall along one side and a fence on the other. The Chorus scoping guy called today. He said they'd clip the cable along the wall beside the driveway, then do a trench across to the main house. There's a second "granny" flat as well, they will run the cable up to it at the same time (but won't complete the internal works - I will provide internet via a cat5e cable from the main house).Looking forward to see how this goes. I ordered a VDSL install at the same time in case it gets held up, install was requested for both on May the Fourth (be with you) but now I must wait for the next call from Chorus (the install team) to confirm a date and timeframe for install.I'm half considering trenching the driveway, but I guess provided I am there to make sure they clip the cable nice and low on the wall, and paint it after, it may not be worth the bother.
